New NGO officially launched, empowers Single Mothers with Disabilities with Yuletide Food and Household Relief Materials

Alone Not Lonely Women With Disability Initiative (ANLWWDI) is the latest of the growing list of women/female-focused disability Non-Government organizations (NGOs) in Nigeria with the core aim of serving as a means of emancipation, providing help & and support for Widows, Single Mothers and young girls with disability in a bid aim to involve all and in promoting And inclusive society. 

According to the Founder & Executive Director, Ms. Oluwasola Deborah Oladeji popularly known as (Ms. Shola), in her opening remark, “Being a single mother doesn't happen by choice. Many unforeseen occurrences  (like Rape, Added Disability in the later part of life, lack of sexual orientation, etc.) are the majority responsible for the plight single mothers find themselves in today.” 

She also outlines the focus area and critical objectives of how her NGO will operate, some of which include; Encouraging single mothers and women with disabilities to utilize entrepreneurial skills development to overcome poverty and safeguarding the rights of single mothers and women with disabilities to render help to them across Nigeria.

Also present in the event are; Mrs Mosurat, Ex Abuja Association of the Deaf Women Wing, Mr. Sola who is the vice chairman of Abuja association of the deaf is also present to represented the Abuja Association of the Deaf, AAD

Meanwhile Mrs Anuoluwapo represent the Executive Director, Deaf Women Aloud Initiative (DWA) to witness the events.

Before the Launching, ANLWWDI raised at least 160,000 nairas to support Single Mothers, Widows with Disabilities with Yuletide Food and Household Relief Materials in Abuja FCT, Nigeria. The fund, which came as a result of a crowd-funded effort from well-meaning individuals and corporate organization, were used in the purchase and distribution of Food & Relief Material. At least 20 Single Mothers, Widows, and Young girls with disabilities from the different disability clusters (Physically challenged, Deaf-Blind, etc.) were beneficiaries of the Relief Program. 

In a closing remark, Ms. Shola acknowledged everyone presented despite the short notice and believed that through her NGO, many lives would be changed, and many individuals and organizations would partner with them to create a massive impact.

 ANLWWDI looks forward to many successful partnerships and collaborations.
