NINE (9) SECG FEMALE STUDENTS PARTICIPATES IN A 3rd ANNUAL MATHEMATICAL COMPETITION

A total of not fewer than nine (9) Deaf female students of Special Education Centre, Gombe (SECG) recently participated in the 3rd Annual State Mathematical Competition held on 15/07/2023 at Center For Micro-enterprise Development, LTD/GTE 1A located at Kaltungo Road Off Bauchi Road Gombe state.

The event was organized by the Bloom Mathematical Challenges (BMC), a professional NGO that specializes in training and equipping School children with relevant mathematics- related knowledge in Gombe state and beyond. 

Mr Bappah who guides the students to the event cited that the students of the Centre has performed excellently in the competition despite their being first timers in this kind Competition, coupled with their disabilities. 

As Special Needs Students, they won 4th position out of 25. This is indeed commendable feat achieved by the students.

Mr Bappah added that the students were astonished everyone during the event by their outstanding performance in the competition
which makes numerous of persons realizes that there is indeed ability in disability. 

After the completion of the programme, the organizers awards Certificates of Participation to all the participants along with some academic materials and transportation fare. 

The Principal and teachers of the Centre were quite happy and proud with the female students over their outstanding performance in the just concluded Mathematical Competition. They urged them to keep it up and put more efforts in the next competition.

According to the programme officer of the event who pleaded anornimity, the organization will conduct the forth phaste of the competition in September 2023 at a location to be disclosed later.

The BMC team were very impressive with the magnificent performance of the SECG students and were full of praises and appreciative to them. "They assured them of more collaboration, cooperation and subsequent extended invitation to participate in all the future events, not only the mathematics challenge but all the activities carried out by the BMC", the statement from the BMC team added.
