In a statement issued on behalf of youths with disabilities across the country Alhasan said the abduction of a visually impaired student represents a grave violation of human dignity and the fundamental rights of persons with disabilities.

He stressed that Mohammed Abdullahi is first and foremost a human being whose life has value and worth regardless of his disability noting that targeting a blind student for kidnapping shows a disturbing lack of compassion and respect for vulnerable members of society.

The JONAPWD National Youth Leader called on the Katsina State Government and the Federal Government to intensify efforts toward the immediate and safe release of the abducted student. He also acknowledged the ongoing work of security agencies in tackling kidnapping and insecurity nationwide while urging them to strengthen their operations to ensure the protection of all citizens especially persons with disabilities.

Addressing the abductors directly Alhasan appealed to their conscience urging them to show humanity and mercy by releasing Mohammed Abdullahi without delay. He noted that holding a blind student in captivity only deepens his suffering and inflicts emotional pain on his family and the wider disability community.

He reaffirmed JONAPWD’s solidarity with Mohammed Abdullahi his family the Gaman School for the Blind and all persons with disabilities across Nigeria emphasizing that no society can claim progress while its most vulnerable are exposed to violence and fear.

Alhasan concluded by calling for urgent action justice and compassion stating that Nigeria must remain a country where every life matters and where persons with disabilities are protected rather than targeted.
