APC National Disabled Leader Tolu Bankole Donates ₦1 Million to Strengthen Ogun JONAPWD

The APC National Leader for Persons with Disabilities Aare Honourable Tolu Bankole has provided financial and material support to the Ogun State chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities JONAPWD as part of ongoing efforts to promote inclusion and welfare for persons with disabilities.

The support was announced during a consultative engagement held at the JONAPWD Centre where executive members cluster chairmen and representatives discussed key challenges affecting persons with disabilities across Ogun State.

During the interaction participants raised concerns bordering on the implementation of the Ogun State Disability Law infrastructure deficits at the JONAPWD Centre mobility limitations access to healthcare and insurance education costs the shortage of special education teachers and the absence of a special school in Ota.

Responding to the issues Aare Tolu Bankole reaffirmed that he had previously taken up the matter of the Disability Law with Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Chief of Staff and assured members that he would continue to push for full implementation until tangible results are achieved.

He stressed the need for sustainability and collective responsibility within the disability community encouraging Ogun JONAPWD to introduce internal fundraising initiatives across its clusters to ensure routine maintenance of the Centre and long term viability of its activities. Members of the association welcomed the proposal and pledged their cooperation.

To support immediate needs Aare Tolu Bankole donated one million naira to facilitate minor renovations at the JONAPWD Centre particularly the meeting hall and to encourage regular engagements that would attract partners and government attention. He also donated five bags of rice to support members of the association.

The APC national leader further advised the association to formally document and forward other pressing concerns to the state government through the Office of the Chief of Staff while copying him for effective monitoring and follow up. He urged members to remain united proactive and focused in advancing disability rights and welfare.

Following the meeting Ogun JONAPWD initiated steps to assess areas requiring urgent repairs and engaged artisans to submit quotations ahead of renovation work.

Stakeholders described the intervention as timely and impactful noting that it reflects Aare Tolu Bankole’s continued commitment to disability inclusion empowerment and sustainable development in Ogun State.
