The National Association of Nigerian Colleges of Education Students (NANCES) says the introduction of the EDON 3D software is beginning to reshape teaching and learning across Colleges of Education in Nigeria.
In a statement, the association said the technology is offering students more interactive and visually engaging learning experiences, especially in subjects that traditionally rely on theoretical explanation. It added that the software is already being deployed in several institutions as part of wider efforts to modernise teacher training.
NANCES said its recent tours to the Federal College of Education Iwo in Osun State and the Ebonyi State College of Education Ikwo in Ebonyi State showed that students are responding positively to the programme. According to the association, many of the students reported that the digital tools have improved their understanding of core concepts and widened their exposure to global learning standards.
The group acknowledged the role played by Dr Idonuagbe Akogun, describing him as central to the rollout of the digital learning initiative. It said the collaboration between TETFund, the National Commission for Colleges of Education and EDON has also helped strengthen the adoption process.
Some institutions, NANCES noted, are now considering long-term partnership agreements with EDON to deepen digital learning integration. The association described the move as significant, saying it reflects a growing willingness among Colleges of Education to invest in sustained digital teaching tools rather than relying on short-term interventions.
NANCES said it supports any initiative that enhances digital literacy and improves the capacity of future teachers. It said the EDON 3D software represents a step toward aligning Nigeria’s teacher-training system with international digital learning standards.
