In a powerful demonstration of grassroots leadership and unwavering commitment to community development, Rt. Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, Chief Whip of the 10th National Assembly, made a high-impact visit to his hometown of Kumo, Akko Federal Constituency, ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The visit in a statement Issued by Mega Media Reporters Akko Federal Constituency Media Office ,described as both compassionate and people-centered, featured the distribution of welfare support worth over N250 million, signaling his enduring dedication to the welfare and development of his constituents.

"This is not just about money; it’s about hope, unity, and care,” said Hon. Kumo. “In every corner of Akko, families deserve to celebrate Sallah with joy, dignity, and peace of mind.”

The visit began at the palace of the Lamido Akko, where Hon. Kumo was warmly received by traditional rulers, political stakeholders, and respected elders. There, he reaffirmed his commitment to Akko’s development, vowing that no political opposition would deter him from delivering life-changing projects to the people.

Key Highlights of the Visit:

  • Inclusion of Kumo Township Stadium in the 2025 National Budget, with contract execution scheduled for July. Hon. Kumo also confirmed the release of funds to compensate affected property owners for peaceful relocation.

  • Massive Sallah Welfare Packages were distributed across the Akko Emirate, Gona, and Pindiga Emirates. Beneficiaries included district heads, village leaders, youth, elders, stakeholders, and the close associates of his late father.

  • An appeal to the Chairman of Akko Local Government to secure the governor’s approval for the upgrading of the Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Kumo, which he pledged to develop into a model residential hub for staff of the Federal Medical Centre.

  • Youth Empowerment Programs: Thirty youths were recently deployed to Yola for modern agricultural training, while thirty-five others are undergoing skills acquisition in tailoring and shoemaking in Gombe.
