Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya says his administration is commitment towards  prioritizing the welfare of Persons with Disability in a manner that gives them equal opportunities and consideration.

The Governor stated this when he granted audience to the chairman and members of the newly establish Gombe State Commission for Persons with Disability.

Represented by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi the Governor describe the establishment of the commission for Persons with Disability as necessary considering their numbers and contributions to the development of the State.

He tasked the management of the commission to work as a team noting that their strength lies in the ability to coordinate,  harmonize, and project that concerns  aspiration of its members.

On office accomodation to house the headquarters of the commission the representative of the Governor disclosed that government is looking at the possibility of allocating the present Shari'a Court of Appeal when it finally move to its permanent head office.
Speaking earlier the chairman of the Gombe State Commission for Persons with Disability Dr. Ishaku Adamu said they were at the government house expressed their gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya not for only signing the Persons with Disability act into law but establish a commission to harmonize and project their yearning and aspirations.

He observe that the gesture by Governor Inuwa Yahaya is a clear manifestation of the Governor's unwavering commitment to the welfare of all the citizens of the State irrespective of their social or economic status.

Dr. Ishaku Adamu equally thanked the SSG for supporting Persons with Disability in the State before during and after its struggle to have the Persons with Disability act sign into law and the subsequent establishment of the commission.
