Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has extended an automatic employment offer to Hassana Minjibir, a visually impaired graduate of Special Education from Bayero University, Kano.
The announcement was made on Tuesday through a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Bature Dawakin-Tofa.
Minjibir captured the governor’s attention during a women’s empowerment program, where her resilience and determination to build a self-reliant career stood out prominently.
“His Excellency has not only offered her immediate employment but also promised to appoint her to the board of the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Commission, which will soon be established in the state,” the statement read.
The governor, impressed by Minjibir’s perseverance in overcoming physical challenges to achieve her goals, directed the state’s head of service to ensure her employment in the Kano civil service is processed promptly.
“This gesture underscores Governor Yusuf’s commitment to inclusivity and to empowering individuals with special needs to realize their potential,” Dawakin-Tofa added.
