Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has extended a hand of compassion to ABDULHAKIM Abubakar Suru, a student with special needs, by presenting him with a brand-new motorcycle.
In statement by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to Kebbi State Governor Mr Yahya Sarki the gesture took place at the maiden Convocation of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) where ABDULHAKIM who before now, relied on a wheelchair for mobility, is undergoing a degree course.
In addition to this act of kindness, the Kebbi State Government has also pledged to employ him as a teacher, in recognition of his qualification as holder of the National Certificate on Education, NCE.
He is at present, pursuing a B.Sc. in Education.
The Special Adviser on Special Duties to the Governor, Alhaji Shafi'u Abubakar Zauro, who disclosed the gift, conveyed the acknowledgement of Governor Nasir Idris, that 'there is ability in disability'.
