Comrade Abubakar Labaran, a person with disability (Deaf) from Nasarawa State and Special Assistant to Nasarawa Disability Commission's Chairman has raised alarm over the rumors of alleged plan to reinstate Dr Betta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
In an open letter to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and made available to Inclusive Reporters, Mr Labaran express deep concern regarding the alleged potential reinstatement of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, early published by Business day, Naira Land and Vanguard News. The full letter reads;
"His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Aso Rock Presidential Villa
Abuja, Nigeria
Dear President Tinubu,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the alleged potential reinstatement of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, early published by Business day, Naira Land and Vanguard News this Tuesday morning.
Recalls that Betta Edu is under investigation for allegedly stealing public funds.
As a dedicated citizen of Nigeria, I believe it is imperative that we maintain the highest standards of integrity and accountability within our government. Reinstating an individual accused of such serious offenses would not only undermine public trust but also set a dangerous precedent for the handling of corruption cases within our administration.
I respectfully urge you to ensure that Betta Edu is never reinstated as Minister. Furthermore, she should be sued for impersonation and held accountable for any wrongdoing. It is crucial that we send a clear message that corruption and mismanagement of public funds will not be tolerated in any form.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that you will make the decision that best serves the interests of our nation and upholds the values of honesty and accountability"
Yours sincerely,
Signed:
Abubakar Labaran. SA to the Chairman, Nasarawa Disability Commission
Nasarawa State
