NANCES Urges President Tinubu to Appoint Hon. Nasiru Bala Aminu Ja’oji as Minister of Humanitarian, Disaster Management, and Poverty Reduction

The National Association of Nigeria Colleges of Education Students (NANCES) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to consider the appointment of Hon. Nasiru Bala Aminu Ja’oji as the next Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Poverty Reduction, citing his exceptional qualifications and deep-rooted experience in community-based humanitarian efforts.

In a press statement signed by Comr. Kur Isaac Ushahemba, Senate President of NANCES, the association emphasized that the current humanitarian challenges facing Nigeria—ranging from internal displacement and food insecurity to disaster vulnerability—require the leadership of a compassionate, capable, and community-driven figure like Hon. Ja’oji.

“Nigeria needs a leader with not just policy expertise, but an empathetic heart and a results-driven approach. Hon. Nasiru Bala Aminu Ja’oji fits that profile perfectly,” the statement reads.

Why Hon. Ja’oji?

  • Proven Track Record: Hon. Ja’oji has consistently demonstrated his commitment to uplifting vulnerable groups, particularly women and youth, through skill acquisition, micro-enterprise development, and access to sustainable support services.
  • Grassroots Experience: His work in agriculture and entrepreneurship has empowered thousands across local communities, fostering long-term development and resilience.
  • Empathy-Driven Leadership: His career reflects not only competence but also compassion—an essential quality for effective humanitarian governance.
  • Visionary Potential: With integrity, experience, and commitment to social equity, Hon. Ja’oji has what it takes to reform and elevate the Ministry’s impact nationwide.

NANCES noted that the appointment of such a hands-on leader would not only reposition the Ministry but also rekindle hope among millions of Nigerians affected by crises and poverty.

“As students and future leaders, we at NANCES strongly advocate for leaders who understand the plight of the people and act on it. Hon. Ja’oji is more than qualified—he is the right man for this critical national assignment,” the statement added.

The association urged President Tinubu to entrust the Ministry to a leader with both vision and compassion, for the sake of Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations.
