APC North-East Zonal Youth Ambassador Advocates Appointment of True Humanitarian
On behalf of millions of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across Nigeria, Comrade Abdullahi Isma’il Ibrahim, APC North-East Zonal Youth Ambassador, has made a passionate appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint a true humanitarian to head the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
In an open letter to the President, Comrade Abdullahi first expressed his deep condolences on the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, praying for Allah’s mercy and eternal reward for the late leader’s service to the nation.
Commending the current administration’s proactive governance, he described the recent appointment of Professor Nentawe Yilwada as APC National Chairman as a positive step towards party unity and reform. However, with Professor Yilwada vacating his former role as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Comrade Abdullahi stressed that this transition offers a vital opportunity to appoint someone with a genuine heart for humanitarian work.
Why Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho is the Ideal Candidate
Comrade Abdullahi called on the President to consider Her Royal Majesty, Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, for the role, citing her outstanding track record as a selfless leader and grassroots humanitarian.
He described Dr. Tejuosho as:
- A proven advocate for the poor, displaced, and Persons with Disabilities;
- A woman of deep moral integrity and inclusive vision;
- A committed humanitarian who serves without title or reward, guided by compassion and purpose.
According to him, Dr. Tejuosho's numerous community interventions through the Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation have positively impacted lives across Nigeria — including vulnerable children, women, IDPs, and disabled persons — aligning perfectly with the goals of the Ministry.
A Voice for the 37 Million Persons with Disabilities
With over 37 million Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria, Comrade Abdullahi emphasized that appointing a leader like Dr. Tejuosho would not only show commitment to inclusive governance but would also restore confidence in the ministry’s mission.
He stated that Dr. Tejuosho’s work has long reflected the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda — uniting communities, uplifting the marginalized, and transforming lives through action.
A Timely and Strategic Appointment
In closing, Comrade Abdullahi Isma’il Ibrahim urged President Tinubu to make history by choosing a leader whose compassion matches the responsibility of the ministry.
“This is not a political request,” he wrote, “but a sincere call for compassionate leadership — one that aligns with Your Excellency’s vision of a peaceful, united, and prosperous Nigeria.”
