Kebbi State Disability Commission Commends The Leprosy Mission for Empowering Persons with Disabilities

The Kebbi State Disability Commission has lauded the efforts of The Leprosy Mission, Kebbi State Branch, for its remarkable commitment to the empowerment of persons with disabilities. The commendation follows the recent distribution of start-up kits to 20 beneficiaries who successfully completed various skill acquisition programs facilitated by the organization.

The impactful initiative, held on December 19, 2024, highlights The Leprosy Mission’s dedication to fostering economic independence among persons with disabilities. The distribution event served as a beacon of hope and a testament to the importance of inclusivity in sustainable development.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion included the Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Special Duties, the Chairman, and the Executive Secretary of the Commission for Persons with Disabilities, among others. Their presence and support underscored the collective commitment of stakeholders to the advancement of individuals with disabilities.
In a statement, the Chairman of the Kebbi State Disability Commission, Anas Malami Gwandu, expressed heartfelt gratitude to The Leprosy Mission for their exemplary contributions. He reaffirmed the Commission's resolve to continue working towards a more inclusive and equitable society, urging other organizations and stakeholders to emulate such initiatives.
