As part of commemorating World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024, The Alone not Lonely Women with Disabilities Initiatives (ANLWWDI) launches her #PadAGirlwithDisabilityWithDisabilities Initiative, a year-long effort to empower young girls with disabilities with free menstrual pads.

The Initiative, Inclusive reporters learnt is a collaborative effort to combat pad poverty among young girls with disabilities targeting the following areas in the Abuja Federal Capital Territory for empowerment namely;  FCT School of the Blind,Jabi, Special Needs school Kuje, and  FCT School for the Deaf

Inclusive Reporters further learnt that with collaboration with the Deaf Women Aloud Initiative (DWAI) who were also running a similar Initiative by launching their Pad bank in the FCT School of the Deaf Kuje),at least 312 young girls with disabilities benefited from this Initiative.

During ANLWWDI's interaction with the staff of special needs schools, they were met with heartfelt gratitude. The staff expressed, "This is the first in the history of the school to have a special organization like ANLWWDI come to donate such pads. It was necessary for the special needs students. We pray more NGOs will emulate ANLWWDI and extend their benevolence more."

One of ANLWWDI's volunteers, Miss Blessing Igwe, stated after the Initiative, "I have never known such special needs students are here; I am happy ANLWWDI gives me such a privilege to give back to my community. I am even happier seeing how those special needs students cheer the pad, which means a lot to them."
