SSAP Abba Isa Seeks Collaborations with Nigeria Immigration Service towards improving living conditions of PWDs in Nigeria.

SSAP Abba Isa graciously received by Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service Kemi Nanna Nandap.

The SSAP first and foremost Congratulate the Comptroller of the Nigerian immigration service Kemi Nanna Nandap on her well-deserved appointment and commend President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support towards her endeavors aimed at transforming the immigration service to adhere to global standards in every aspect.

Mr Isa said his office eagerly anticipate collaborating with her on various initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable health and improving living conditions of PWDs in Nigeria.

The SSAP reiterate that during the discussions, attention was drawn to Section 29 of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018, which mandates that all public organizations strive to have at least 5% of their workforce composed of persons with disabilities.

"I am pleased to note that she acknowledges and supports this provision"
Furthermore, fruitful deliberations were held on potential areas of collaboration. I am delighted to announce that she has expressed her principled agreement to support our upcoming Presidential Socio-economic Programme scheduled for June 2024. This year's programme will feature Para-Sport events, with a particular focus on shooting and archery. The event aims to provide a platform for Immigration Personnel who have sustained injuries either through accidents or in the line of duty, as well as mainstream disability sportsmen, to engage, compete, nurture talents, and contribute positively to both the Nigerian Immigration Service and the nation as a whole.
The grand finale of the programme will include an awards ceremony to honor the winners, as well as the distribution of palliatives to numerous target beneficiaries. This gesture reflects our collective commitment to alleviating the challenges posed by the current economic realities facing our nation.

Lastly, the SSAP express his deepest appreciation to the Comptroller General for her willingness to collaborate and support initiatives aimed at advancing the welfare and inclusivity of Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria. Together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive society for all"
