The APC Enugu State Tinubu Torchbearers Initiative on September 26, 2025, inaugurated its state women coordinator in Abuja, marking a historic milestone for female political leadership and grassroots mobilisation.
In a statement signed by the media representative of the APC Enugu State Women Wing, Dr. Cynthia Agbo, the event was described as “a defining moment that positions women at the heart of political strategy and mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
At the ceremony, Princess Ekenechukwu Ozobu was formally installed as the Enugu State Women Coordinator of the Tinubu Torchbearers Initiative. Organisers stressed that her appointment will place women at the centre of strategic outreach, combining grassroots activism with capacity-building and modern campaign tactics.
Delivering her acceptance remarks, Princess Ozobu pledged to mobilise women across Enugu’s local government areas, organise leadership workshops, and establish a coordinated volunteer network to support voter registration drives. “We are committed to turning civic energy into electoral outcomes by empowering women and making their voices central to the political process,” she stated.
Speakers at the event highlighted the significance of the appointment, calling it both symbolic and practical: symbolic because it reflects increased recognition of women’s leadership in party structures, and practical because it lays out a roadmap for sustainable voter education, mentorship, and grassroots mobilisation.
