The Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Gombe has reeled out plans to collate and establish a renal centre in Kumo, Akko Local Government Area of the state.
This was disclosed by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Yusuf M. Abdullahi (Dan Galadiman Shamaki Gombe) of FederalTeaching Hospital Gombe. "The move is to improve service efficiency and reduce the traffic in the FTH renal centre, which will help improve service delivery". He said.
Speaking during a press conference held at the hospital's board room last Thursday, the CMD, who acknowledged the need for subsidizing the dialysis for patients diagnosed with kidney diseases, applauded the member representing the Akko Federal Constituency Usman Bello Kumo, for sponsoring the dialysis sessions for patients.
"In the last six months, we conducted more than 600 free sessions courtesy of Usman Bello Kumo, and he wants to continue with the same spirit this year," he stated.
The CMD added that, "The move is aimed at easing the burden of patients' families in the current economic wave is commendable" .
Commenting on the recent takeover of Kumo Specialist Hospital and converting it to a Federal Medical Centre by the Federal Government to help reduce the burden of the FTH, Dr Yusuf commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for building a worthy health infrastructures.
