Akko Local Government in Gombe State witnessed a massive gathering on Tuesday,11th March, 2025 as residents and stakeholders came together to express their gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya, CON, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for upgrading General Hospital Kumo to a Federal Medical Center (FMC).
The thanksgiving event, held at the palace of His Royal Highness, the Lamido of Akko, Alhaji Dr. Umar Muhammad Atiku, was organized under the leadership of the Chairman of Akko Local Government, Hon. Muhammad Danladi Adamu (Baraden Gona). It drew a large turnout of community members, political leaders, and various organizations.
The Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Usman Bello Kumo, was represented by his Senior Legislative Assistant, Hon. Ishiyaku Abdullahi (Jarman Akko). Speaking on behalf of the lawmaker, Jarman Akko hailed the milestone as a major achievement under Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, CON (Dan Majen Gombe). He emphasized that the upgraded healthcare facility would provide specialized medical services to Akko residents and neighboring communities.
The event was attended by top dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggererewo, the Lamido of Akko, Alhaji Dr. Umar Muhammad Atiku, government officials, business leaders, and a host of stakeholders from across Akko Local Government.
In a statement released by the Media Unit, Akko Federal Constituency Office, the team described the upgrade of General Hospital Kumo as a "transformational milestone in the healthcare sector," adding that "this development will not only improve access to quality medical care but also boost the overall well-being of the people of Akko and its environs." They further commended Governor Yahaya and President Tinubu for their commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and pledged continuous support for policies that uplift the community.
The people of Akko reaffirmed their unwavering support for President Tinubu and Governor Yahaya, pledging continued solidarity in their efforts to advance Gombe State’s development.
