Gombe, December 30, 2024 — The second edition of the highly anticipated Gombe Facebook Connect took place at the Matrix International Academy's main conference hall, drawing thousands of social media enthusiasts and active users from across Gombe State.
The event featured renowned scholars who delivered transformative training sessions, equipping participants with essential skills, strategies, and innovative perspectives to foster self-reliance. A special review session, led by the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Gombe State Police Command, added a unique and insightful dimension to the gathering.
Reflecting on the initiative's remarkable journey, the Convener and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Engr. Abdullahi A. Abdullahi, and Dr. Saifullah Ibrahim Waziri, highlighted the accomplishments of the previous year. From the ₦50 million donated by Dr. Bala Bello Tinka, Chairman of Tinka Point Ltd, and other philanthropists, ₦12 million was distributed to empower over 200 students from Gombe State studying at FUK and GSU by completing their outstanding registration balances.

This year, the committee unveiled an ambitious plan to distribute ₦15 million to 300 beneficiaries, allocated as follows:
₦10 million for 200 Gombe State students.
₦2.5 million for 50 vulnerable persons
₦2.5 million for 50 members of the Gombe Facebook Connect family
The collaborative efforts with Tinka Point Ltd continue to inspire hope and champion community development.

₦2 million donated by former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami
₦500,000 donated by Builder Abdulrashid Abubakar FNIB
₦1 million donated by Dr. Ishiaku Babayo, Adviser to the Governor on Donor Partner Coordination
₦100,000 donated by Al-Amin Ibrahim Gabarin, Chairman of the National Youth Council, Gombe State Chapter
The grand occasion culminated in the recognition of distinguished guests and contributors with special awards, celebrating their invaluable support.
This year's edition of Gombe Facebook Connect 2.0 stands as a beacon of youth empowerment, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to community advancement.
